THE MASTERMIND BEHIND AIOTA PHOTOGRAPHY
HI, I’M PAMELA
vancouver boudoir, intimate maternity and couples photographer
I SERVE THE WORLD BY ADMIRING AND INSPIRING OTHERS
I see you, I see the best in you –
& I want you to see that too
If you want to find me, there's a good chance that you'll find me near the SEA
I moved to Vancouver, BC over 20 years ago; I convinced people to be my friends, found a nice home close to the water, and settled down here for good. The Aiota Photography studio is located in downtown Vancouver, also a few hundred metres from the ocean
It’s no surprise that I live by the following quote: "The cure for anything is saltwater; sweat, tears, or the sea."
I love fashion, art, and music. Beautiful visuals excite me - textures, colours, shapes, tones, prints & patterns, etc. Music brings me joy - I can experience a whole world and variety of emotions through it. Music tells an emotional story; images tell a visual one. Fashion is expression; the insides turning out, art of the public sphere. I find the world an endless source of inspiration.
I cherish the childish heart inside of me and aim to stay true to that child who desires nothing more than to create. I love to immerse myself in the emotional landscapes of others. In the same way that I would listen to a song, I can feel the feelings of others through their use of language and tone.
More about Pamela
When I'm not busy working, you can find me digging through racks at small-town thrift stores, listening to my favourite NPR podcasts, obsessing over design and fashion trends, dehydrating and fermenting foods. Or, like a good Pacific Northwestern, setting up camp for a few days somewhere with no cell service.

I love to experiment with everything in life
I prefer my own imagination to any other kind of entertainment.
-
I'm INTERESTED IN EVERYTHING - really
People describe me as someone who is “interested in everything”. I truly do find the world fascinating, and I get bored with anything too predictable. Absurdity is my favourite!

I'm a child of immigrant parents
This instills a sense of empathy in me. I’m able to deeply respect and understand other perspectives, while still holding my own. I’d like to think I’m open-minded, which is also a defining feature of who I am!
