Happy Five Years of Aiota Photography! | Vancouver Boudoir Photographer

When I first opened my studio, I had really high hopes for how many blogs I’d publish. I thought I would be spilling over with words and content and new ideas. After all, part of the reason I dove into photography, and later Boudoir Photography, was to spread and share ideas. If you’ve worked with me before, you know that I love to dig deep, ask big questions, and push my clients to really start thinking about why they’re doing this, what motivates and inspires them, or, alternatively, what gets in the way of them deepening their self love and self reverence.

Boudoir is more than just sexy photos. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll get amazing photos that you’ll cherish for life after all is said and done (you’re beautiful, so how could you not walk away with great photos?), but my aim is to create a safe, judgement-free, and sacred space where you can explore who you are and deepen your self-love. It’s my hope that every client who comes to the studio, leaves just a little bit better than when they first came in.

And let’s face it, doing a boudoir shoot is an investment (my collections start at, with the experience and photos combined, 998.00 + tax, and many other photographers in this calibre, even more). Of course, when you go through the process, spend a full day (6-7 hours) with me one and one, get your hair and makeup done, and have a day of celebrating the self shamelessly - you’ll get it. Then, on top of that, you see your photos, receive an album that will literally last for generations…and boom! You understand that the experience is priceless. The value is there.

Still though…still…I don’t want to be exclusionary. A photoshoot is just one way to develop more self-appreciation, but it’s not the only way. Seriously. We can develop these beliefs and qualities within ourselves, even if you can’t/won’t/are too scared to do a photoshoot with me (or anyone else, for that matter!).

So, back to my hopes and dreams. In the early days, I really wanted the content I put out there to inspire other women (and men, and non-binary folks - not excluding here!) so that even just a trip to this website could leave you feeling hopeful about life and amazing about yourself. Or maybe you had new insights, or new ideas, or a change in perspective that allowed you to build a bit more self worth. But, alas, the day to day of editing and ordering and shooting and connecting and bookkeeping and reveals left me with very little time to do those extra-curriculars.

It has been five absolutely incredible years working with the most amazing clients. And I remember every. single. one of you. If you’ve worked with me before, I have not forgotten about you, who you are, what you care about, and why you did this shoot with me. I genuinely care about all of my clients and I am fortunate and honoured to be co-creating with you.

But in celebrating five years of my photography studio in this city (Vancouver BC, if you’re from out of town!), I also am ready to step up my game. How do I want to do that? I want to create better content - more content - where I can inspire you, and you can read a little bit about some tools to develop the self-love muscle which we all neglect with a regularity that feels like cleaning out the back of the fridge; like why did we let that go for so long?!

Over the years I’ve learned a lot, and shared many laughs, tears, straight-up honesty and real-talk, hugs, masked air-hugs, and celebration with so many clients. But I want to go further, and I want to give more, and I want more people to delve deeper and deeper into themselves so that they can stand fully in their power in this world, and encourage others to do the same.

I’m ready for this. And I’m putting it out there. I want to create more content about practical, real-world strategies to help everyone (myself and others) develop more compassion and care towards themselves (and as a result, others, because when we are kind to ourselves, we are kinder to others).

You heard it here - hold me accountable if I fall off.

Celebrating five years of running this Boudoir Photography Studio! Ready and willing to GIVE more!

Thank you for allowing me to create with you.

With love,

P
